Barasoain Church

Also Known as : Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish
Location : Paseo del Congreso St, Malolos, Bulacan

On September 15, 1898 Barasoain Church was chosen by Emilio Aguinaldo, the leader of the Revolutionary Government to be the site of the First Philippine Congress, also known as the Malolos Congress. Malolos Constitution was Ratified on January 21, 1899. And on January 23, 1899 the first President of the First Philippine Republic, Emilio Aguinaldo, took his oath.

This is also the site where Joseph Ejercito Estrada swore to serve the country and people as he took his oath before the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Andres Narvasa, as the 13th President of the Philippines in the presence of his mother, Mrs. Mary Vda. De Ejercito, his wife Luisa who held the Bible, brothers, children, grandchildren, siblings and his best friend, Fernando Poe, Jr. at 12:00 noon on June 30, 1998
